Nuclear Export Controls Consultant
Steven Bullock, M.Sc.
Steven has served as an Export Control Officer in the commercial nuclear industry and later worked in export compliance supporting researchers in the national-laboratory environment. Both settings taught the same lesson from different directions: the best compliance systems are designed around how work actually happens.
His consulting work centers on turning regulatory requirements into practical systems that people throughout an organization can understand and use. He starts by asking questions, learning the operating environment, and building relationships across functions, because a control designed without the people who have to run it usually does not survive its first busy week.
He is also a paralegal, with significant experience working at the intersection of legal requirements and business operations. He is a contributing member of the team developing American Nuclear Society Standard 60.1 on Civilian Nuclear Export Controls, an effort in which he has participated for approximately five years.
He holds a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Project Management and is an ECoP®-certified ITAR professional.
