Why it matters
Authorization pathways shape schedules. A General Authorization activity can often proceed with the right records and reporting, while a Specific Authorization request takes time to prepare and time for DOE to review. Knowing which path a project sits on early is usually the difference between planning around a requirement and being stopped by one.
